More on picking yourself up

Wow. It keeps coming, doesn't it?

My last entry was about being under-appreciated and today a friend of mine came to me with the same problem that I had on Tuesday.

God doesn't give you a problem for nothing. I truly believe in "God-incidence" - coincidences that happen to you, which is actually part of God's plan to bless someone else.

And so I shared with her about focusing on what is important in her life, instead of which areas in her life that she feels under-appreciated.

And then I saw today's first reading from 1st letter of St. Peter. It's quite apt really, and a timely reminder that we must first submit to God in humility, so He can raise us up at the appropriate time.

So here is part of the reading.
I hope this blesses you.

"Beloved:
Clothe yourselves with humility in your dealings with one another, for

God opposes the proud but bestows favor on the humble.

So humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time.

Cast all your worries upon him because he cares for you.

Be sober and vigilant. Your opponent the Devil is prowling around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.

Resist him, steadfast in faith, knowing that your brothers and sisters throughout the world undergo the same sufferings. The God of all grace who called you to his eternal glory through Christ Jesus will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you after you have suffered a little.

To him be dominion forever. Amen."
